DR.KIZZA BESIGYE ATTACKS OKUMU REAGAN

FDC President Dr. Kiiza Besigye welcomes reports that Aswa County MP, Reagan Okumu is planning to take over his position as party head. Following media reports that Dr. Besigye’s position could be taken over by Okumu, the FDC leader welcomed the news, saying many party officials should become interested in the office:
FDC President Dr. Kiiza Besigye also attributed the present land conflicts in the country to inefficient land laws coupled with corruption. Dr. Besigye says the inefficient legal framework can not regulate all land effectively in the country.
His comments follow the recent wrangles between the Bagungu and Balaalo, in Buliisa, adding that the only Parliament can save the situation, through dialogue. Dr. Besigye says corruption as one of major factors that have escalated the land crisis in the country:
He warns all those who have taken land illegally that they stand to loose it when FDC take over power. He says they will not only loose it but also be prosecuted for acting against the law.
